Beginners Quilt Along: The Village Quilt

Class Length: 6 classes, 3hrs/ea

Class Cost: $165

Are Materials Included? No. A material list will be provided, or you can purchase a Scrap Basket All-Access Pass.

Class Description:   Build your own quilted neighborhood in this fun and flexible quilt-along! Using Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.’s pattern or a customizable grid system, students will create as many tiny houses as they like—maybe a handful for a small cul-de-sac wall hanging or a whole village for a full-size quilt top.

This class is designed for all skill levels and introduces essential quilting techniques, including cutting with rotary cutters and acrylic rulers, piecing with precision, and pressing seams for crisp construction. Choose your own approach—work with scraps, pre-cuts, fat quarters, or yardage, and decide whether your houses will be a riot of color or a coordinated palette. Add architectural details like windows, chimneys, or eaves using geometric principles to make each house uniquely yours. We will meet every Sunday, 2pm-5pm, from May 4th to April 8th.

This is a great class for using your scraps from previous quilts, or purchasing new fabric, but if you do not have scraps or do not want to purchase yardage, the Scrap Basket All Access Pass lets you raid our overflowing scrap bins—we have hundreds of yards of fabric in every color (yes, even rainbow). Skip the shopping and dive straight into creating.

Students are encouraged to trade and share houses with classmates—after all, it takes a village!

This class will run with 2+ participants.

PLEASE NOTE: While no experience is necessary, if you have never used a sewing machine before and are feeling nervous or stressed about using one for the first time, please consider taking our Sewing Machine Confidence Builder prior to this class, or get in touch for a private one-on-one lesson.
